SCHOOL FOOD GARDENING PROJECTS

We engaged and worked with various stakeholders in expanding homestead food gardening concept to Primary Schools. Two schools in Dobsonville were adopted (Thathezakho and Thabang Primary Schools). Our team worked together with the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, DANONE SA and Petolo Seedlings in assisting these two Primary schools with their food gardening projects. Batho-Pele Foundation and DANONE SA donated to both School: gardening tools, gardening overalls and boots, garden netting, seedlings from Petolo Seedlings and manure and seeds from Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

At Batho-Pele Foundation, we recognize the importance of developing the skills of our team and members of the community. Through Jo’burg Child Welfare we were able to provide Basic Counselling and Basic Communications training to our team and members of the community. These trainings are crucial for both the individual and the NGO. For the individual, they provide the tools to effectively communicate and counsel, enhancing their personal and professional relationships.

For the NGO, they enable our team to provide high-quality support and services to our clients, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding. Through these trainings, we empower our team and community members to build stronger connections, resolve conflicts, and navigate challenging situations with confidence and compassion. By investing in the skills of our team and community members, we strengthen our organization and create a more supportive and resilient community.
